Last days to visit the exhibition “Jean Delpech’s wartime work”

26/12/2023

The exhibition of some forty prints and drawings by Jean Delpech (1916-1988) at the Musée de l’Armée ends on Sunday 7 January 2024.

The exhibition, devoted to Jean Delpech’s wartime work, features 19 drawings and 27 prints produced between 1938 – when the artist began his military service – to 1945, when he joined the 1st Army to draw a report on the German campaign for a magazine.

The works depict the daily life of a soldier during the 1940 campaign in France, life in Paris under the Occupation and the Liberation. They resonate with the Museum’s collections and link the objects on display in the permanent exhibition with the artist’s own perspective on the conflict.
The exhibition is spread over the three floors dedicated to the Second World War, and is also an opportunity to take a fresh look at these areas.
